Plus this time it comes with 2 controllers.

Are the cords longer this time, or will you still have to play less than 3 feet away from your TV?

But it's worth the 80 bucks that Nintendo is charging.

Is it really? Realistically speaking, you could play most of those games for free using emulators, or buying the ones you want in the Nintendo VC store on whatever console you have (assuming you have one). Likely with better controllers.

Fuck me, that lineup is nearly flawless.

Ehh.

I was actually sort of looking forward to the SNES Classic (more so than the NES Classic, anyway), but out of that list of 20 games (plus an unreleased game I have zero nostalgia for, and thus, don't care about in any way), I don't really see THAT much worth caring about.

About the only games I see that I consider worthwhile at all are Final Fantasy III (assuming it's really FFVI and not the actual FFIII from Japan), F-Zero, Link to the Past, Super Mario Kart, and Super Mario World. I could also see Donkey Kong Country (though it never really appealed to me at the time) and Street Fighter II Turbo (though I feel like it might be worthless because the sort of people who loved playing it then probably aren't having tons of friends over to play it now, and I can only assume there's nothing resembling online play - though that's probably also a problem for F-Zero and Mario Kart as well, now that I think of it).

At best, that's only about 25-30% of the games on there. Which really isn't much of a passing grade, let alone enough to justify a $80 price tag (and the hassle you'll probably have to go through to get one even beyond the price). I can't really justify a $10-$15 price tag per worthwhile game when those games are about 25 years old (and can mostly be played on other platforms, ports, or whathaveyou anyway).

I get why a lot of people will go crazy over this, but I feel like there were a lot of other games I would have preferred to see on there instead, which didn't get the nod mainly because Nintendo would have had to negotiate the rights to them from someone else, as opposed to loading it up with mostly first-party titles they keep all the profit from.

It doesn't really interest me anywhere near as much as I kind of hoped it would.
