Thank you all for posting and keeping the topic going; it really has not been an easy month for me personally. My mom had a stroke and barely remembers that I'm her son, and I had a below the knee amputation.

However, the show must go on, and that means you know the rules: Post anything Geek related, whether it's about comic books, movies, music, television, board games, or anything that simply interest you and others in a Geek fashion.

Per usual we have an opening question to keep the topic going, and that question is....

What is your favorite video game soundtrack and why?

Bonus question: What is your favorite video game song or songs, and why?

Wrap Up from Spider-Geek Homecoming coming up!

Now that I finally fixed my PS2, I started looking at used PS2 games again, and my god have the prices skyrocketed. I wanted to play Shadow Hearts, but not for $50. Wanted a new copy of Valkyrie Profile 2, which was $20 two years ago, and is now $60. Just ridiculous.

What is old is new again. Ps1 and ps2 games have gone up insanely in the last three years.

It always happens when the childhood generation of a generation has grown up, and can now buy the games of their youth.

When I got older I bought Dreamcast and Nintendo 64 games and a lot of SNES games because there was no way in hell I could afford them as a kid.

Enjoy the price hike. I know I did when I started collecting.

Honestly, as a whole? Maplestory. Filled with upbeat and catchy tunes to go with the unique 2D art design and colorful areas, while also being fittingly ominous for the darker areas.

Top two (in no particular order) are "A Mighty/Formidable Enemy Appears" from Lost Odyssey, and "You Will Know Our Names" from Xenoblade Chronicles. Boss tracks always tend to be my favorite bits from soundtracks, and both of these are elite quality.

It upsets me that there are PS1 and PS2 classics sections on the PSN, yet so many actual classics never made it on there. Tons of rare and expensive games that I'd love to play and probably never will.

Hmm... Tough call. Possibly the original Katmari Damacy. Possibly Sonic Adventure 2. Possibly one of the Final Fantasies. Possibly one of the DDRs. Possibly one of the LittleBigPlanets.

Hmm....... Still Alive (Portal), maybe? Still Alive (Mirror's Edge), maybe? Snake Eater, maybe? Devils Never Cry, maybe? Dancing Mad, maybe?

Phil Lord and Chris Miller are out as the directors of the Han Solo (Unnecessary) movie. With 3 weeks left to go to finish the movie.

We all must remember that Disney is our lords and masters, and if you don't like what they tell you, then die... Or quit... They don't care.

Some shows are better with a slow burn, though. I almost wish streaming shows came with a warning if they are binge-watching friendly (yes, I'm aware the distinction is very subjective). I've had people tell me they just couldn't get into Westworld, for example, and when they listed the reasons why, it became clear most of her issues stemmed from her binge watching it, when it's definitely more of a slow-burn show.

Opie is taking over directing duties of the Han Solo movie from Chris Lord and Phil Miller.

A couple of thoughts come to mind.

1. Ron Howard was just laying around with no projects in the fire so he could be brought in so easily to finish this movie?

2. He was bought in mighty damn quick for a sudden "Firing" by Kathleen Kennedy over at Disney. Meaning this was coming for s while and Opie was on notice a few weeks or even months ago.

Seemed kind of planned to me. I wonder how this movie is going to turn out now as they have 11 months left to get it all done. Plus the 7 weeks of results needed on top of what's left in principal photography.

Vince Russo just filed a restraining order against Jim Cornette >_>

http://www.prowrestlingsheet.com/jim-cornette-russo-restraining-order/

Bleeding Cool broke down a lot of it in detail, but they kinda gloss over how Russo was just reading things off a piece of paper. Humorously enough, one of the comments on the video noted that Russo needed to look down to remember his name.

https://www.bleedingcool.com/2017/06/22/vince-russo-files-restraining-order-jim-cornette-stalking/

Once again, the most interesting feud in wrestling isn't happening in the WWE or TNA.

It really isn't all that interesting. It's pretty clear Russo's been floundering around in a desperate bid for relevance for a while now, and he's just discovered that Cornette's about the only person left on Earth who is still willing to respond to him, so he just takes the occasional potshot and Cornette talks about beating the shit out of him, because that's what Cornette does.

It's almost like watching Erik and Ico fight here on PotD, except Cornette's actually intelligent and often says worthwhile things (unlike Erik and Ico).

That was admittedly awesome, yes.

His issues with Russo tend to border on the side of the business he tends to be the most out of touch about, though. At least a few times recently (mostly relating to the JBL problem) he's said things like "If you have issues with someone, just go beat the shit out of them" because that's how things used to be handled in the old days, without really thinking about just how litigious society has become since then. If he handled every problem the way he used to, he'd be in jail right now (or at the very least, utterly poor from all the lawsuits). You'd think getting fired for slapping Santino would have at least clued him in to the shift in the winds, but he seems to have missed the point.

Of course, in JBL's case he's also missing the point that JBL is pretty much Vince's golden boy, so there's also the distinct feeling of "If I fuck with this guy I'm going to lose my job, and if I lose my job when the WWE is basically the only major wrestling organization in most of the world, I'm basically losing my entire career", which was never really the case when Cornette was active in the business. And he also seems to miss the irony inherent in Stephanie pushing an anti-bullying charity while their entire locker room culture is basically based on a bunch of would-be alpha males bullying each other into a strict hierarchy.

When it comes to talking about old school wrestling or telling stories about stuff that happened he's probably one of the best guys out there, though. Especially because he doesn't really care about what bridges he might be burning, so he doesn't really filter or fudge the details of the stories (or care about who he might make look bad).

That was based on an interpretation of JBL falling into the more "old school" style and, from JBL's pranks, it does seem like the kind of approach for problem solving. When Cornette points out that JBL would be unlikely to sue, that's certainly possible. When Joey Styles popped JBL, Styles never got fired and JBL supposedly backed down after that. Keep in mind that JBL isn't like Satino Morella.

Which ties into Cornette's and others' arguments: If you're going to lose the job anyway, does it make a difference how you lose it? And again, when Joey Styles -- another commentary guy -- resorted to self-help, the matter did drop.

And honestly, while VKM likes JBL, he also seems to like the boys settling matters among themselves.

I get to go home next Friday. However, not before I lose another 20 pounds, and die from getting the wrong medicine.

The hospital gave me the wrong lunch. I can't have orange juice or tomatoes because of the renal failure.

Then they tried to give me dialysis 5 times this week. (Normally you get 3 unless you're dying.)

One doctor came in and asked me how my stomach was going. I said that I'm fine, but my leg is hurting me. She said that was normal for a stomach stapling. I told her I had a BKA, and that I am having phantom pain. Then I asked what my leg hurting would have to do with my stomach anyway?

She asked my name, and I told her, and she got my date of birth right, but was confused that my right foot was missing.

Also, I'm still waiting for that lunch 5 hours later. Plus who eats dinner at 4:45 in the afternoon? I'm in rehab, not an old folks center in Florida.

The physical therapy is great, but the actual medicine side of the hospital is a nightmare.

The Phantom pain is getting better each day. I think my mind is starting to understand that my foot is truly gone.

However, the foot still gets cold, hot, itchy, and achy.

As for what it feels like...

Imagine if your foot was permanently asleep, and you couldn't wake it up, combined with numbness and a dash of frostbite, all at once.

It's getting better, but it is still quite the adjustment.

I really hate the smug gaming community sometimes, especially when they get ticked off at a developer for taking away their cheating tools. Here is what happened.

There is a popular cheat mod on GTA V online and Take 2 told the developers of the mod to take it down because it's messing up the games online economic system. If they didn't they would issue a cease and desist anyway. So, the mod got taken down, and now Steam reviews of GTA 5 are all of a sudden negative.

I'm quite sure that someone isn't going to not buy GTA V just because of some steam reviews, as the game is 4 years old now. However, to act like a baby when something illegal is taking away from you is absurd and juvenile. Besides what if this wasn't a high profile game, but a small indie game from an indie developer hoping word of mouth will help sell the game?

Get over yourselves... ugh... I'm sorry, but they made GTA to make money, not to provide you an avenue to hose over fair minded people...

I honestly, truly, sincerely find it difficult to believe that anyone over the age of 15 actually enjoyed playing GTA online.

Which is funny, because I know PO played it online, and knowing the kind of gamer he is, my best guess (and only possible reason I can fathom) is because his nephew enjoys the game, again harkening back to the younger demographic.

Essentially, let the children whine.

This actually kinda broaches the age-old debate of making games entertaining through modding, to which I always ask: if you need to mod a game to squeeze enjoyment out of it, how does that make the base game good?

Also one of my pet peeves, tbh. Actually, it's a few of my pet peeves since retaliatory reviews for non-product issues are another aggravation although, at least, this probably includes users of the product unlike SJWs brigading the Yelp page for a business they've never used.

While I've sometimes considered that argument, to some extent it's analogous to any number of food comparisons where you could say that if fries were truly good they wouldn't need ketchup, or if ice cream was good it wouldn't need sprinkles, or chicken wouldn't need sauce, etc. Ultimately, I can kinda see it as a matter of preference where some people can enjoy something one way but get more fun out of it another way.

By contrast, there are a lot of activities which people only enjoy drunk or high, which strikes me as being a more significant "modification" to the enjoyment of an activity.
