To be fair, he's not entirely wrong to the extent that if you basically wipe out an entire country there wouldn't be anything to draw from.

Except he absolutely is, especially where the number of people worldwide willing to join the "we need to stop the West at any cost" bandwagon is going to jump astronomically if the West starts considering large-scale genocide to be an acceptable course of action in response to anything. And that number is going to start including people who have no interest in Islam whatsoever. If you're going to try and prevent a group from recruiting by wiping out a region, that region will have to be the entire planet, at which point you've erased any good your efforts could possibly have done.

ISIS will kill a few every now and then until they're wiped out, if we keep p****footing about then that will last indefinitely, this means that they will kill more than we ever could with an aggressive bombing campaign, assuming the body count isn't that high already.

If ISIS ever makes it up to a thousand kills a year, I'll be very surprised. Carpet bombing an entire country stands to kill thousands per hour, if not far more. I get that you're scared and all, but don't be so stupid as to think you're actually presenting realistic ideas here. Calm down.
