You know Bush and Obama both said dumb things too, and don't get me started on Clinton

The thing is, most of the time when George "They misunderestimated me" Bush and Barack "57 states" Obama said things, it was often just inelegant speaking and/or a slip of the tongue - it was readily apparent what they were trying to say. Obama didn't actually think there were 57 states, Bush didn't actually think "Is our children learning?" was grammatically sound, their mouths just moved faster than their brains that day. Happens to all of us, no big deal.

The thing is, the things Trump says are actually phenomenally dumb. They're not just slips of the tongue (though he has plenty of those too, along with misspellings on Twitter), they're things like "I had the biggest electoral college victory since Reagan" which is simply wrong (and which he then followed up with a clarification - "I just meant among Republican presidents" - which was also wrong), or "Barack Obama's birth certificate is fake!". Statements like these show that actual thought went into making them, which makes them infinitely more disturbing than Bush or Obama's quotes.

Barack Obama either wrote or reviewed a speech in which he claimed that it's easier for inner-city youths to get their hands on a gun than a book. Either way, actual thought went into what didn't even make sense in hyperbole. Pretending that "Wait, what?"-level remarks are in any way unique to Trump is a partisan hackery of the lowest order. Further, there's nothing inherently wrong with this statement and, more importantly, Trump heavily speaks off-the-cuff unlike many of our more recent presidents.

Oh look, Jedirube is launching into another sexually-explicit, arguably homophobic tirade yet again. Because all of his previous disgusting remarks which did nothing more than showcase his limited intellect and stunted maturity went so well in the past.

Excuse me? How is any of what I said homophobic, and what do you mean again?

I think you're the one seeing an alternate reality.

Because you're using gay acts as an insult although, given your hate-boner for Trump, you may just be describing your deepest fantasy so maybe that homophobia is rooted in your own deep-seated desire which is too taboo for you to name. Either way, get counseling.
