Not sure I like that zebatov apparently favors some sort of population control, but I don't see why anyone would dismiss the idea that the government is behind anything deceptive on a large scale.
Like it really confuses me. Most people seem to claim they distrust the government in one way or another, but the moment you actually target something and call it a lie, someone attaches that special word to it in their head. "Conspiracy!" Like clockwork, any and all lines of questioning immediately become no more credible than joke lines in a movie.
And note that none of this is to say that ISIS isn't real - I just think you'd be an idiot to automatically assume that the government using smoke and mirrors for unknown purposes is always just someone being paranoid. Stop treating the government like it's your own personally programmed robot that can never deceive you, and consider the possibility that there's some weird fuckery going on every now and again.
People think the government lies, they don't think it lies well. The public opinion is that the government is stupid evil, it's not capable of a ruse even if it tried. ---
