microwaves literally only heat up water molecules, which in turn creates steam, which in turn heats and cooks your food

they're as harmless as cooking on a teflon coated pan.

which, by the way, can actually kill you if you get it too hot.

I recall seeing debates long ago. there just isn't conclusive evidence cooking via microwave is harmful to the food to be eaten.

But what do mean about teflon pans? I use a bunch of them at home. The coating will poison my food or stuff? :o

The only concern I have heard about microwaves is using it to cook things like potatoes, in that the skins could be a problem. Also, the obvious items you don't want to stick in the microwave like tin foil or sandwich bags.

As for teflon, it doesn't concern using them in a stovetop so much as using them in an oven. You should NEVER stick a teflon pan in the oven. It can be a concern for dishes where you are supposed to simmer them for a bit, then stick the pan in the oven for a while. Or people who store their pans in the oven (which I HATE, my grandma almost burned down her house doing that).
