He's actually a mid tier composer in a country of great modern composers even just within the realm of video game music. He's super inconsistent, and a lot of his songs follow the same pattern, that you can always tell when he's baiting for a popular track. His bad songs are cringing bad, and he has trouble making music for things that's not steampunk or a flat grassy land I can't say much on the actual composer. I've loved his work in mainline FF games, but any time I hear his work outside of FF, I'm not much of a fan. Two that come to mind are Fantasy Life and Hometown Story. Love Fantasy Life, but both of those soundtracks were pretty mediocre. Hardcore mediocre. But because I really do love listening to good video game music, can you list your favorites? --- ...
