Many people are depressed who are not clinically depressed simply because they feel they should have something more or better and they are nowhere near getting that and so it depresses them. This is kinda what got Bhuddism as a religion started. It is entirely possible a man with $200,000 year job is depressed and feels like he has a shit job. You might disagree but in his mind he doesn't have what he wants. And that is the lesson of the people in China working actual shit jobs and not depressed or suiciding. It isn't that you have it better so be happy but rather they are an example that people can be happy with whatever their lot is. That is a man with 5 donuts can be happy and a man with 1/3 of a donut can be happy.
