Kira’s predictions on how Arria will feel about the characters (episode 1 only). In general: Arria has a ‘thing’ for older men. I would normally think that she’ll have a ‘thing’ for Umineko’s older men, but I think the older men in this series are just terrible enough that she’ll want to like them, then fail miserably and end up hating them. Exception: she’ll hate Krauss on principle because he’ll remind her of Trump (who she’s not a big fan of. Let’s try not to discuss politics, though).

Kinzo: she’ll appreciate how fucked up crazy he is and how devoted he is to his love, but probably won’t like him because of what a jackass he is.

Krauss: will hate him on principle because he reminds her of Trump.

Natsuhi: will try to like her because she’s the one that I want her to cosplay as. Will dislike her at first, but will grow to like her as the episode progresses.

Eva: may hate her at first, and will probably continue to hate her throughout ep 1. Will appreciate her later.

Hideyoshi: will probably like him, especially when she learns of the sacrifice he made so that Eva could keep her family name. But won’t make a big impression.

Rudolf: will try to like him because he’s an older male. Will grow to hate him because of what a jackass he was to his first wife. Will also suspect him of being up to no good when he mentions that he knows he’ll die before the first twilight.

Kyrie: will think she’s a badass and probably be an early favorite.

Rosa: this one I don’t know, because I don’t know how she’ll handle Rosa and Maria’s relationship. She will either cheer Rosa on because she hates Maria and also wants to slap her, or she’ll think Rosa is the worst because child abuse is never okay.

Battler: Will think he’s an obnoxious dumbass at first. This probably won’t change until later eps. Will probably grow to like him much later.

George: will respect that he’s in love with Shannon, but will probably think he’s just ‘meh’. Like, neither super likeable or hateable.

Jessica: will probably like her for being spunky and fair toward the servants.

Maria: unsure about this. Will probably be annoyed at first. Will think she’s an ‘annoying anime girl’ and probably fall into the trap that Ryukishi just doesn’t know how to write little girls. Will probably stay annoyed at her, but at least understand that she’s ‘special’.

Genji: will probably like him because she has a thing for older men and butlers.

Shannon: will probably like her and feel sorry for her terrible treatment in ep 1.

Kanon: will probably think he’s a weird fuck due to his obsession with ‘furniture’. May never get over this.

Kumasawa: will probably get real sick of the mackerel jokes real fast.

Nanjo: will probably not have any strong opinion either way.

Gohda: same as Nanjo, will probably not have a strong opinion either way.


I’m curious how she’ll feel about the music. I’ve told her that the music is awesome, but she didn’t remember that when I asked her what she remembered.

I told her not to bother trying to solve the riddle because it requires knowledge of Japanese. While I want her to ‘think’ I don’t want her to go insane trying to solve something she’ll never figure out.

I, Kira, will be paying special attention to Shannon and Kanon, namely the fact that they shouldn’t ever be together in the same scene with Battler. I’m not sure what other things I should be looking for on a reread, but I’ll make my own comments as we go.
