It's unfortunate, but who knows how it might have ended if this guy didn't shoot them. I'd be a little more sympathetic if the burglars weren't armed. As it was, though, they were presenting a clear threat to the guy's life, and responding to that with lethal defensive force was absolutely reasonable.
