Wow guys, no. Based on his criteria Settlers of Catan is exactly the type of game he'd hate.

I don't know why you chose Risk as an example anyway since it's mostly determined by luck.
He chose Risk as an example of a game that doesn't meet one of his criteria. Risk is probably one of his least favorite games if these are the things he's looking for.
