Also hated the battle system that you had to switch everyone in at some point in order for them to gain exp... turned even the most basic fight into a bit of a grind making sure no one got left behind.
Here's a thought: Don't do that? You don't get more exp by doing this. If you're obsessed with keeping levels equal just do it like you would any other FF game and swap less used guys in outside of combat every once in a while. Or just don't keep them equal I had Lulu and Kimahri both with less than 1000 hp at the end of the game.
