Why are you not always going as fast as you can unless there's some sort of deterrent (such as needing to have some precision to avoid falling off a ledge, etc.)?
My point is that there shouldn't be a run button at all. Just make the movement stick make you run, and tap it lightly to make you walk slowly, like every other modern game.
