He's actually my favorite character in the franchise, and I would literally trade all of Atlantis and Universe for one more season of SG-1, even the Ori seasons.
I like the Ori seasons! But anyway, I used to think that was a bit of an exaggeration on your part but looking back... and especially with how Universe and even Atlantis ended so abruptly... hell, so would I. Oh god, so easily.
It was never anything even close to an exaggeration. SG1 is by far the strongest show in the franchise.
