I'd say "hate" is a strong word, but I kind of classify weebs into the same sort of category I put stoners, shippers, furries, etc.

Namely, it's perfectly fine to like things. But when you go past like into obsession, and then past obsession into "annoying other people with it", then it's a problem.

If you're just someone who likes anime, that's perfectly fine. If you won't shut the fuck up about how anime is the purest form of media ever invented and how much you love Japan, slipping Japanese words into conversations, buying Pocky because it's something Japanese people do, etc, then you're kind of an annoying dipshit.

The problem is, the Internet in general has a way of turning any fandom or interest into its most extreme form, as fans gather together and effectively form echo chambers where their behavior just gets more and more intense because you have a skewed impression of what is acceptable and what's a bit over the top.
