It's an obvious and observable phenomenon, ignoring it simply means nothing ever changes. Just because most privileged people are white doesn't mean being white is a privilege. Poverty is poverty, lack of connections are lack of connections. If you don't have the means to get ahead skin color isn't going to make a difference.
