The non-scholarship player for the Hokies filed a federal suit against coach, Chugger Adair stating he targeted her because he disliked her for her political views It says "Because she refused to kneel, he benched her, subjected her to repeated verbal abuse and forced her off the team" It says her soccer career ended not because of her performance on the field but because of her conservative political beliefs... It says because of her coach's actions, she can no longer play the game she loves despite having 2 more years of NCAA eligibility and violated her constitutional rights and is demanding money for her legal and equitable punitive and nominal damages as well as lawyer fees and for the coach to undergo first amendment training. It says Kiersten stayed strong to her beliefs while she remained the only player who refused to kneel during the national anthem and not have BLM logos on her jersey during games. Adair is being represented by the school's attorney and is the all-time leader in wins Her status suffered in 2020 when all the Virginia Tech soccer players knelt in protest against racism with a unity statement while Hening stood. She said Adair responded with anger that they stood and berated her for her stance Hening claims she supports "social justice" and believes in black lives matter but she made it very clear she DOESN'T support the BLM movement and believes they are anti-police and anti-america.
