The complaint alleged that "SpaceX made inquiries about his citizenship status and ultimately failed to hire him for the position because he is not a US citizen or lawful permanent resident," per Sandoval's filing.

Why would this be an issue anyway? First, a lot of companies ask about that in their hiring process. Second, and more importantly, if somebody isn't a citizen or lawful permanent resident, why shouldn't companies be allowed to not hire them on those grounds? Is America really desperate to keep Americans from working? If anything, SpaceX should be applauded for not exploiting the H1B system.

Oh, and I couldn't find anything other than this issue when trying to look it up.
