The only reason I wouldn't put Amuro at the very top of the is because we've also seen him fight with much more modern mobile suits later on, which did give us some comparison points against other pilots. Personally I've got Kamille as the most talented UC pilot even if he doesn't want any part of it by the end, he faced a more dangerous set of opponents as Zeta just escalated the darker elements of the series. Though Uso is another contender for best as Victory had him kinda keep improving at a really fast rate and by the end he was p OP.

Right, this topic made me get around to starting Zeta Gundam, and there's one thing I'm slightly confused about-
Is it supposed to be blindingly obvious that Quattro is Char? I mean, I know that it's a well known 'spoiler', but did the writers assume that everyone watching would realise immediately, or did they think it was a twist? And do the other characters know? Kamille clearly doesn't (as of episode 5, when Quattro 'name-drops' Char), but what about the AEUG members who've been working with him for a while?
Yes, we know what Char looks like before Zeta, his outfit's colour scheme and his voice actor.
