I'm not sure whether I'd trust claims like that seen on Twitter especially given how much fucking trolling goes on there. It looks like a prank designed to get more viewership.

While I dislike scalping, the real issue is that gaming companies never produce enough consoles at launch.

No, it's more a matter of scalpers creating an artificial shortage. It's how arbitrage works.

pandemic notwithstanding, the only time there's never enough consoles at launch is with nintendo consoles.

both sony and microsoft usually always have enough to meet demand, but given the state of the world right now, it's not unusual that they have production issues that impact unit numbers.

Popular consoles have generally had difficulties in meeting demand, although a large part of that is scalpers impacting the overall supply. The only time they don't is when it's not popular, largely because scalpers are less likely to impact the overall supply.

Meh. Theyre just a middle man. Doing the same as any other reseller. Shouldnt hate them because its individuals instead of a company.

Anyways its not like more than 5-10% of PS5s are even going to scalpers. Theyre not the reason we cant get one, its just low supply.

It's not the same thing by any stretch of the imagination. If it was, they'd be selling at MSRP instead of several times over MSRP and have a direct relationship with the consolemaker.
