Yeah, I do agree that the lack of any price paid for the good ending is sort of weird. Nobody even had to like, learn a hard lesson or anything - it was just 'lol we used time travel to solve everything' and pretty much every conflict the story had was totally erased, which is funny for a story that otherwise had a fair bit of darkness to it.

Yeah exactly, like Cabanela and Jowd's past police mistakes still happened, but Yomiel surviving means they just... aren't haunted by their rash actions anymore. Like Jowd still shot that gun in an attempt to kill him but who cares now. And the game touched around the actual essence of death and ceasing to exist forever (which is pretty dark stuff!) so when Sissel just gets a handwaved 'will never die' moment it's real odd lol.

But it's still a super bold ending (having the final narrative reveal conversation be between a dead cat and a time traveling dog spirit is... bonkers. In a good way) and I guess it is kind of refreshing for it to not have Sissel and/or Yomiel die to serve the story.

I'm amazed I wasn't spoiled for this game at all, I know it's just a cult thing but it's so beloved, I'm glad I got to go in fresh. I don't suppose there's anything else like this?

Would it be too brash of me to say this has a better OST (and far better overall presentation) than AA?
