He's a domestic terrorist.

Who at that point had only conspired to do harm and quietly surrendered to the FBI during a sting. There's no reason why he can't be placed on house arrest and monitored until his trial as a reasonable accommodation for his medical condition.

Your "incredibly dangerous individual" argument might have more weight if he had shot at arresting officers or had the kind of training that would make him a credible threat, but at this point he's only a co-conspirator and, I might add, at least one of his co-conspirators was already released on bail

And people who were accused of carrying out a kidnapping or murder (ie, not just conspiring to do so) also have received bail or been put under house arrest in the past. There's nothing to suggest that it wouldn't be feasible here as well. Contrary to your assessment, he's an ex-junkie former thief, not an ex-marine or McGuyver. And, if you truly claim to be interested in the cause of justice, you'd want him to be alive to serve out his full sentence rather than die before he gets a trial.

He should fight to stay incarcerated. Diabetes supplies are much more expensive on the outside.

Private prisons, bro. He might not be able to stamp enough license plates at below-sweat-shop-labor rates to afford his meds.
