Topic | LQBTQ+ People, would you choose to be hetero if it was possible |
adjl 10/22/20 8:06:32 PM #18: | IronBornCorps posted... I have seen a lot of people say they wish they were bisexual today for a variety of reasons. Mostly that there would be more options. I mean, it is objectively true that bi/pan/whatever people have more options than people with more exclusive orientations. People just have a tendency to overestimate how many more options there are, given that only a tiny subset of their new target gender will be into theirs. Straight people going bi doesn't double the dating pool, it increases it by ~11% (presuming ~10% of both men and women are gay, you go from ~45% of the population being eligible to ~50%). Gay people going bi get a much greater effect, but they already understand that by virtue of having personally experienced how limited gay dating can be. They also tend to forget that their standards would be roughly the same for the new gender as for their current preference, so it's not even like you're going to care about all of the new people in the pool. --- This is my signature.
