The bigger issue is the down ballot races cause there are certainly pockets of California that are purple and this could've changed the results of races at many levels if this ended up being a widespread issue. Mayor, city council, school board, state assembly, US house all possible could've been impacted. It's shitty that it's come to this in CA, but on another level I can appreciate that the portion of the state that isn't LA or SF is sick of pissing into the wind if they vote R.
