Probably why we didn't see a sequel for nearly 30 years. I do want to point out though that part of why those prices are higher is because multiple people can see it, if you have a family of 4 paying $25 is far more feasible than if you are alone. If they had some way to know exactly how many people were going to watch it then you would likely see more varied pricing, like $25 for a family of 4 $10 for one guy. But unlike a movie theater unless they put cameras in our homes that can monitor us, figuring out how many people are watching it is harder.

I believe that is their reasoning but it's faulty.

Basically you have to provide a service for the money, something you get above and beyond what you will get renting it in 3 months or so, for a fraction of the price.

In 3 months you can rent it for $1.50 or less, and the same family can watch it just the same.

You don't have the movie theater experience etc, and we are not in a day and age when people are desperate for a new movie to watch etc (Even with covid, there are just so many options).

Trying to charge $25 is crazy because you will get less then 1/10th as many people watching it, than if you charged $10, and 1/20th as many if you charged $5.

I think there are alot of Bill and Ted's fans out there, and while the movie wouldn't have been a box office smash, it would have done fairly well in normal times. The way they are releasing it though is going to kill it hard.

I guess people could all get together and watch it as a group, but ......covid........so yeah, this is just a bad idea. I'd say hold off on releasing it until things get back to normal, or bite the bullet and release it for $10, and in 3 months drop it to $5 like normal. You'll take a bit of a hit, but actually more people may pay the $10 then normally would go to the theaters, or wait for the $5...because it's not that much more money for seeing it right away.

Too late now I guess.
