If you're operating globally, you need to scale up to make it worthwhile, and scaling up smuggling ships makes it a lot harder to stay under the radar (literally, in some cases). Piggybacking on legal shipping is generally going to be the better option there, especially where there's enough international shipping happening these days that you can probably get away with your goods only having to cross one or two borders. --- This is my signature.
