With a single system youd be able to actually decide yourself which doctors to see. Under the current system I can: Choose my doctor Choose my plan (HMO, PPO, ect.) Choose no plan (Due to the mandate being repealed - I still technically get taxed for it in Massachusetts) Choose a state funded plan Choose a federal funded plan Choose another private plan (one that my work doesn't provide) None of this has any mandatory requirements. I'm not required to visit my doctor. My current plan requires me to have a PCP, however I don't think the other plan that my work provides requires a PCP. --- You're a regular Jack Kerouac I'm a Senior Software Engineer.
