Saying that is like saying "this isn't how the weather is supposed to work" when it gets cold. Free market capitalism isn't really a system, it's just letting things fall where they will. This is the only outcome that will EVER happen with this type of commodity sans regulation -- people can't live without it, and the price reflects that.
