However, since voting, I have learned that some fucking morons honestly believe that some people are currently trying to institute an income tax in Texas (there is a state constitutional amendment on the ballot that would make it harder to do so even though it already requires a public referendum. This amendment also changes the wording of an existing law in a way that could open up legal challenges to existing corporate taxes). And when I asked the people I met who thought that this amendment failing would result in an income tax being instutited why they thought it would, they called me a liar for claiming there still wouldn't be one. Even though they couldn't provide any evidence there would be one (because there isn't any)
