$3k vs two or three $800 ones

Still cheaper...

But you're getting a better night's sleep as well.

What is this, the 50s? I can make my own decisions without being talked in to spending thousands on some fucking padding lol

Yes, because you can make an intelligent, informed decision about what essentially amount to giant, white rectangles all by yourself. I take it that you do most of your mattress shopping online. XD

Please expand on this, because mattresses already last a long time. If a $150 one has a 7 year warranty, I can only assume your $3k one is covered for 140 years?

Good luck claiming that "7 year warranty" you're seeing on a $150 mattress. It's probably not even as reliable as a Bob's "Goof-Proof" protection plan.

The difference between a low-end mattress warranty and a high-end one is not just that you're less likely to need the high-end's, but you can actually count on it.

The mattress was about $1200, without the box spring (since I didn't need a box spring with the bed that I bought).

Oh, you got a platform bed?

It's very comfortable though and has shown no signs of wear in the ~2.5 years I've had it... Though granted, I travel so much that I have probably on spent about 1.5 years sleeping on it.

Just out of curiosity, do you remember the name/model?

And unlike my previous mattress, I no longer wake up sore.

tbh, that's the most important thing.
