Like when "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 2: Majora's Mask" won Game of the Decade. I don't disagree... but until she runs into Link directly, does that matter? I thought Majora's Mask validated its strength well enough in 2015 to assuage concerns that it won GOTD due to acting as an OOT proxy. Yes and no. Rather, it showed that it is legitimately the #3 Zelda game on this site. Since both of the two ahead of it were from the nineties, it took on the mantle of "series flagship" for GotD. I would not be remotely surprised if Breath of the Wild wins GotD in 2020. Normally with this being NostalgiaFAQs, you'd assume that a game from 2010 or 2011 would be favored, but BotW was intentionally designed to be a throwback to the earliest games in the series. Given Bacon's tendency for setting up potential SFF matches in Games Contests, I wouldn't be surprised if BotW and ALBW were in the same region, and I think that could be quite interesting, because while BotW has the advantage of being on a console, it's a throwback to the first Zelda game, while ALBW is a throwback to ALttP.
