My cousin drove for one of those services while he was looking for a new job after first moving to a city. He was trying to do it as a 40 hr/week job and was aiming for $1k/wk... then it was $800/wk... and luckily he found something else because I *think* he was only doing like $600 which was before factoring in the cost of gas (and not even considering the wear & tear to his vehicle).

A service like that probably works best when you're looking to kill time or can find a fare who's wants to go in the same direction you're driving. (Granted, never tried the service; do you know where your fares want to go before picking them up?)

I wouldn't want to do that as a woman because I'm afraid I'd get murdered.

Same here. The main reason I don't drive for Uber or Lyft is safety.

Maybe they could make a separate service for women or something. I think I saw it suggested on a show once... with hilarious results.

You're not a medium sized women, are you?

I always carry my 45 or 9 anyway. Have the 45 in my urban carry holster and the 9 in the dash board glove box thing when I'm driving. I'm looking at truck mounts for my raven but I don't want it to be out in the open and at that point it's just not practical.

I thought you were some kickass martial artist. Why are you carrying around a gun? And shooting somebody in your car is just stupid.
