It's not simply a matter of greed, there's also influence at play. The US and other nations have a strong history of overthrowing hostile regimes to put in friendlier (often-puppet) governments. That said, there *are* some genuine concerns in regards to how the war is being carried out although the bulk of the problem is that foreign nations have exacerbated the conflict to promote their personal interests and, more generally, those same nations (especially the US) are responsible for destabilizing the region and enabling much of the conflict in the first place.

...you mean his people who are attacking him? The nation is in the middle of a foreign-backed civil war. If another nation was arming groups to take down our government, you'd better believe that the president -- no matter who it is -- would fight against the rebels and there would certainly be collateral damage. However, it's tougher to do that to the US because we have a stronger surveillance network and better infrastructure -- things these other nations lack.
