You're missing the point. It doesn't matter how big a part of someone's life this site is: I'm saying the ignore feature straight up doesn't work. Not for what you're advocating it for anyway.
If someone is going to follow a person around and talk shit about them, and put them down, and even do it in topics they're not in, making that person's posts invisible specifically to the poster they're targeting isn't going to solve the problem.
Now, if the ignore feature also prevented the one ignored from entering the topics of the person who has them on ignore, that'd help a bit, but even that still wouldn't solve the problem.
This site supposedly has rules to follow, and a moderator staff, so users shouldn't just be allowed to go around harassing people and shitting up the boards with their pissant grudges and emotional baggage. Now if you want a site with basically no rules except what GameFAQs is legally obligated to address where people can lie and harass and insult people to their black heart's content, that's one thing, but this site is supposed to have some order, some rules, some quality control, so GameFAQs should actually act like it. It never should have escalated to the point it got to, and sorry but acting like Mr. Cool Guy who is just above it all and scoffing at people taking the site seriously doesn't really refute any of that.
