Like on what planet would that conversation ever play out like that? How old is this fucking kid? Does he have a disability? That's the only way it's believable, but he seems old enough to be able to have a conversation, especially since he actually has something of a conversation at the end of the episode. But yeah, Arrow is just a show that bumbles and stumbles around with bad writers that eventually luck into doing something decent every once in a while. I'm not even going to post a spoiler with this part because we all knew it was coming, but William's mother living long enough just to fall into Oliver's arms and deliver a final few lines and then die was so unbearably bad. Like come on with that. They're bad writers.
