Mixed feelings. On one hand, it's a traditionally male club where many of the activities make sense to only have male members there -- such as camping -- because, in theory, it requires less supervision. On the other hand, I'm *assuming* that enrollment is still way down from where it used to be, even as recently as in the 90s. Likewise, boys and girls like socializing, especially since young men often welcome *any* opportunity to mingle with young women. And membership is less likely to decline by age (as it traditionally has) in a system with co-mingling.

If the club *has* girls in it, which it will, by definition it will help them meet girls. Back when it was male-only, there was no chance of that. Plus I expect that uniforms are pretty much out the door anyway.
