...they literally held hands through the entire transformation sequence and made a heart with their hands at the end...

...and they held hands the whole time during their duo finisher too. There have been seasons with main pairs and duo finishers before, but this is on a whole other level. I know Maho Girls also has a polarizing reputation for toning down the fisticuffs compared to other Precure series and focusing more on magical attacks (which was seen as abandoning Precure's unique identity by some of the fanbase) but I've also seen a good chunk of the fanbase still really like it despite that, saying that it still has its own unique charm. It's way too soon for me to tell where I'll fall on this, but the first couple of episodes were pretty good at least.
