That was one of the most frustrating things. I've been a Guilty Gear simp for most of my life, I ran into the GBA port of X as a teenager and I was just fuckin captivated by how large and lively the sprites were. Then I like googled the franchise and started listening to the music, then I got this terrible Accent Core Wii port with no story content, and I played it for the aesthetic until I actually got decent enough at the game.

I was blown away by Xrd's reveal, because I had come into the franchise three years into the hiatus and the rights issues made it seem like BlazBlue was going to be their GG Expy going forward. I've been invested in this franchise for at least twelve years, almost certainly more.

And then when Bridget was made trans - look at all these fucking strangers who are suddenly experts on the franchises bending over backwards to say "Bridget isn't trans and if she is that's bad character writing and actually problematic for real trans people". None of the passion and appreciation that I have for the franchise, just half a sentence of lip service so some jackinape can go "actually this is wrong and bad, and if you don't understand why you're not a real fan".
