The Inhumans push Marvel made was always going to fail and I will never understand how they thought it could succeed.

X-Men worked because they were the every-man weirdos who were just fighting to be seen as equals and not grotesque weirdos, while also fighting back against those other bizarre weirdos who were trying to fight back against the world that wouldn't accept them. They were relatable and sympathetic because they were born this way and couldn't help it.

The Inhumans are literal ivory tower elitist weirdos who sucked down some Terrigan Mist and blah blah blah but rarely deigned the world with their presence and their biggest drama is royalty politics. They were never going to be as big as the X-Men. They were never going to be relatable like the X-Men.

It's frustrating that Marvel tried so damn hard at the time to make Inhumans the new X-Men because it was so obviously going to be a failure to anyone who actually had an understanding of these characters. I don't even particularly dislike the Inhumans that much when they're in their own little bubble. But man, imagine thinking "We can just replace the X-Men with these guys." Absolute dopey behavior only a corporate dummy could believe.
