Either pass or demand the current homeowner replace the system. Ours is like 20 years old. They wouldn't replace it but paid for us to have a warranty on it and had it fully serviced before we moved in... So I'm kind of hoping it just breaks soon before it runs out. It's performing about as well as the one in our rental did. It's just hot as fuck outside and will be all week. Upper 90s and 100s. On that note, my office is also getting the entire AC system replaced during the next week so we'll have absolutely no AC. 300 people, computers, lights, etc. So much fucking heat will be generated with nothing to stop it D: --- ...
