Topic	Why do Americans eat such bland food regularly?

Spices are just a way that was used to cover up rotting, spoiled food by making them taste better. Now that we have proper refrigeration it is not needed anymore. To PO's point, that is why northern climates don't have as many spices, they can just stick a steak in a snowbank to keep it from spoiling. --- I am a senior software engineer.
