Which also reminds me of Pyramid. Which I associate with Dick Clark. Though thinking about it, the real problem at this point is that the role of the host is possibly the most important part of any game show - a really charismatic host can make almost any game successful, while a bad host can ruin even an otherwise well-thought out concept. But these days producers would probably start casting Instagram or TikTok influencers to be host. Salrite posted... There are plenty of of new game shows. They probably mostly suck, but they're always being made. They're not even nearly as prolific as they used to be. It's like soap operas - the genre as a whole sort of lost its niche over the last couple decades. At this point, new shows mostly only show up on the Game Show Network. But that's a tiny audience at best, so the shows are being made on really small budgets and with minimal effort. That being said, yeah, new game shows still get made.
