My mother (who was a nurse for 40 years in a major city,) mentioned that it's possible Biden took a cold medication, and that since he probably has other prescribed medication, the two substances interacted, causing Biden to be extremely tired and winded. Apparently, in these situations, this can happen, no matter the age of the person. It also would have made his stutter more magnified than normal.

That probably accounts for why Biden looked out of it during the first half of the debate. Once the interaction wore off, he seemed to energize. Of course, you couldn't tell because of the person next to him rambling off 100 lies/second, and moderators who seemed to suspiciously favor Trump.

It was also at 9:30pm I bet he goes to bed before 8pm almost every day unless the job requires his attention. He likely wakes up stupidly early, but you can bet most people over 80 are not up late.
