Half the board thinks it's some grand conspiracy to intentionally reintroduce toxic users so that he can make a case for shutting the board down entirely. The last time I suggested that he simply didn't care and was letting people in without vetting them I got dog piled. People are getting really unhinged over all of this.

I think it's another point of frustration because the guy is supposed to be community manager or something but doesn't seem to listen to the community. Obviously there are issues that he can't budge on like fandom policies, but there's been very little in the way of shows of goodwill and a lot of mishandling. I agree people may see too deeply into it.
