Why wasn't I here for yesterday's matches to vote for them?! It was an amazing day and I could've said a lot about it. But well, it wouldn't have made a difference, really. Deus Ex Main Title nearly doubling Caverns? Scrap I/O nearly doubling Vacant Interference?! WHAT?! So hard to believe considering Ys Seven was probably the most frontloaded OST so far.
Anyway, onto today's match:
Opening Stage
Shadow Man Stage
Very weak day all around. The 2 first match songs are too random in different ways -- MMX's Opening Stage being a little messy, like the song forgot that it wasn't using a chiptune anymore, and Trisection being a rather uninspired and totally forgettable orchestral composition.
On the other side, Shadow Man Stage has cool bits and has some original bits as well, but it's awkward at times, and Dark World is just such an UNREMARKABLE rearrangement of the original version that it's just not excusable at all. I'm sure that a properly done rearrangement of that song could surpass the original song rather easily and become an extraordinary piece by itself, but it's like they didn't even care about doing THIS arrangement.
