I don't know, has anyone ever quantifiably disproved something as vague as a concept of collective consciousness? It would be incredibly difficult. I know you had the Sheldrake experiments around WW1 but both the results and method would be opposite what you're describing.

On a related note, what reason would anybody immortal ever have for announcing their immortality? It's always bugged me in literature/movies.

You would think that a truly immortal being would allow or even encourage people to make attempts on their life to better identify one's enemies. Whereas announcing it only really does anything if you're not actually immortal and want to discourage people from trying.

If it's the movement of BLM and not the organization BLM then I don't see anything wrong with this. The message "Black Lives Matter" shouldn't be disputed, but it's understandable to take umbrage with the organization that capitalized on people's emotions to line their own personal pockets.

Everything after force awakens just feels so....meaningless in the trilogy. TFA at least gave it's characters SOMETHING to do. Finn and Poe actually did things, and the story, while a retread, at least has the benefit of not feeling like 80% of the cast was an inconvenience. You left it sort of wondering where they could take the franchise and what they would do with characters like Finn.

TLJ feels like a chore. Everyone outside of Luke and Rey/Kylo feels like an afterthought and nothing that affects the plot really occurs outside of those two. People complain about Canto Bight, but my bigger issue is the utter separation of the A and B plots until the very end of the movie where it tries to tie them together in a supremely unsatisfying way.

ROS is the same deal. It feels like everything outside of the A plot(Is there even a real B plot?)is treated like an inconvenience and that the lack of continuity can be made up for by spamming fanservice like it's Zapp Brannigan's book of pick-up lines. The fanservice is hollow though. The entire movie feels hollow honestly, there's not a single point of nuanced progression in the entire movie and they somehow made it feel worse than a fetch quest from a videogame.

I think we should be concerned that a subreddit can manipulate the market so easily. Our economy is a bit of a paper tiger.

Kafkatrapping, which the majority of users in this topic are guilty of, is wrong.

I think that a social media platform is able to remove users at will. That's their protected right. My problem stems with the precedent AWS sets with their actions. I think antitrust laws should have probably prevented Amazon from ever becoming this dominant in the first place, they've clearly demonstrated that they have the capacity to hinder any potential competitors with the amount of marketshare that they control.

They should probably be reigned in by the Federal Trade Commission Act, along with a couple others who are in the same boat of throwing their federal influence around, but I don't think it should be done unilaterally.

Ideally, I would like the Supreme Court(Less so now with it's current composition.) to hear a case on antitrust law in relation to how monopolized certain sectors of our market have gotten(Internet utilities, AWS). If you cannot maintain your monopoly without using federal lobbying/aid to deter/prevent your competition then you are in violation of the FTCA and should be broken up/divested immediately.
