I'm realizing I've never heard a single song from that game outside of that game.

Hero has redial, which falls into the "Iconic video game music" catagory.

64 has Green Garden and Blue Resort, which are both great and regularly used.

Second Attack I'm not even certain exists. I played it as a kid. And I remember beating it. But I can't remember a damned thing about it other than the boss fights.

It was alright. It was pretty visibly unfinished though. And I'm not talking about the usual, "This DLC should have been part of the main game."

When you're adjusting weapon damage numbers +/- 80% in the first week of the games release I'm inclined to believe it wasn't really balance tested at all.

Dialogue is cringier than it's predecessors, but not in the rarely funny endearing way BL2 would occasionally manage to sweet spot. It's just rough.

Story sucks, but it's Borderlands.

Biggest thing is that me and my friend managed to get every character to OP10 in BL2 and had a blast doing so. We messed around with BL3 for maaaaaybe a week in post game and then bailed. It's just not a fun or rewarding grind.

I was driving back from a bender at my friend's house. We stayed out thanksgiving night, got wired and did our black Friday shopping while basically wired out of our minds and twacking.

8:30 A.M. I'm driving home and I'm not entirely awake. I see the car in front of me with a named license plate "Blige" stopping suddenly, I go to hit my brakes and realize that an orange has gotten stuck near/under the foot pedal. I briefly think of that scene from the Simpsons while trying to power through the orange before crashing into her at about 15-20 mph.

She gets out of her car. Her passenger starts to as well but she looks at me and tells him to relax. I start taking pictures, apologizing, and explaining all at once, doing all 3 relatively poorly as a result. Finally, I manage to explain the situation and she asks to see the orange.

I show her a partially crushed orange under my brake, the floor mat gently soaked with orange juice and smelling pretty citrus"y". She looks at the orange. Again at her bumper, which appears to have no visible damage, and then at me one more time.

"Take it easy slim." She says and then she gets back into her car and drives away, leaving the sleep deprived me more confused and grateful than I'd ever been in my life up until that point.

A day-to-day example would be on my drive home there's a right turn that backs up with traffic every day. You have people who wait in the line appropriately, and you have people who ride up the straight lane and wait for someone to let them in. Those people that let them in are enabling and encouraging the behavior. Why wouldn't I act negatively when I'm rewarded for it? We saw this with the anti-mask crowd during the pandemic as well. If taking a bad action results in a positive result, people won't view the action as bad.

I've given up on doing anything about the assholes that isn't a purely punitive action. But can we get some self-defense/self confidence courses for these unintentional enablers so that we can do something about the asshole endemic that's gripping society? Teach them to stand up for themselves or at the very least organize some kind of buddy system so that they aren't constantly allowing themselves to be victimized?

We're nearly at the point where people are done questioning rules and start testing enforcement en masse. That happens because people see these assholes take advantage of those trying to live in a dignified way and decide, "It's actually easier to just be one of the assholes." And they're right. We've already seen it happen with scalping.

It just hurts to watch people being taken advantage of so frequently. And it hurts worse knowing that it's only going to get worse as long as the behavior yields results.

It's so fucking weird, but honestly, that's what does it for me.

I never in a million years would have thought a SM64 mod would make my top 10 list, but it's actually a perfect experience that cannot be replicated.

Game isn't perfect. It's hella flawed. But the experience is like nothing else ever offered. Like slipping in and out of an anasthetic dream while trying to play Super Mario 64 as a kid. It's like if the fabric of reality slowly began to crumble and you're just along for the ride.

Just an absolutely incredible experience.

There was a certain mod for a certain iconic platformer by called B3313 that I just got through playing and I want more of that. Shit that makes me stop playing at certain points and ask, "Wait, how the fuck do I get back here."

Is there any game that is as useful for finding original stock sound effects as SMRPG? I'm honestly serious about this. The only other thing I can thing of is N64 game voicelines, like from Star Fox and Mario Kart 64.
