Imagine getting the letter for jury duty and its for Trump, absolutely wild. I would see it through.

Even if I got the letter, I'd probably be dismissed considering he used to be my Commander In Chief.

I imagine they'd consider that a conflict of interest and they'd boot me.

By the end of Tuesday, seven jurors had been selected to determine whether Donald Trump should be the first president ever convicted of a crime. By Thursday morning, when the Manhattan trial resumed, there were just six.
According to Judge Juan Merchan, the juror was excused after later expressing doubt that she could remain fair and impartial. In particular, she said that friends and family had already reached out to ask if she was serving on the jury.
Those calls came after numerous media outlets reported potentially identifying biographical information about the woman, including her job and the neighborhood she called home. Fox News Jesse Watters highlighted the juror's details while reading through public pool notes about the selected members. "This nurse scares me if I'm Trump," Watters said.
Other outlets including NBC News, CNN, CBS News, and ABC News also publicized details about the juror, including additional identifying information.
Watters has alleged without evidence that "liberal activists" are lying to get on the jury, a claim that Trump himself has repeated on Truth Social, potentially violating a gag order.
Jury selection is continuing Thursday. Trump is facing charges that he falsified business records to cover up a hush payment and affair with Stormy Daniels to unlawfully influence the 2016 election. He has pleaded not guilty.
Judge Merchan implored journalists to be more careful going forward, asking that they exercise "common sense" before reporting jurors' biographical information, NBC News reported.
"Jurors are real people with families, lives, and jobs," tweeted former federal prosecutor Renato Mariotti. "If one juror came forward and vocally expressed concern about her safety, that concern is likely in the mind of the *other* jurors. Their safety must be ensured in order for our legal system to work."

Anyone using this info like Watters' has deserves to go straight to jail for the entire length of the trial. He knows exactly what he is doing.

Now should we spotlight clowns like that? Idk, I think exposing these people makes more people aware of what kind of nonsensical rhetoric is going around and may make the uninitiated/uniformed more aware of how insane the anti-trans crowd is.

I didn't really use the internet to talk to people until I started coming to GameFAQs in 2007.

I played Runescape and would talk to people there if I needed/wanted something, but it wasn't really a main method of communication.

I had an email before 2007 but I didn't really use it for anything.

So really, this website was my first main method of online communication.

The due date was a couple days ago.

I have only ever been employed by the United States Federal Government and I have always gotten money back from them.

So not only do they give me a paycheck paid for by taxes, they take some of that money back in taxes, and take too much out and thus have to give me money back at the end of the year. Truly the most government of logic.

I read most of it, the main two accusations worth at least.

Though I only briefly heard about one of the incidents.

Kind of shitty people are willing to blow things out of proportion or take things (wildly) out of context to make someone out to be a bad guy.

Not saying chuggaa is perfect but still.

I haven't really watched his stuff in many years but sucks that he has no drive to keep doing what he was doing because of this shit sandwich he was forced to eat.

Also what he said about the edgy humor of the internet at the time (2009ish) is rather true, and people who weren't a part of the (very) niche internet cultures around at the time are going to be very appalled by what used to get said. Or if they've never been in the internet where you have a persona/not your real name or personality, they're going to have a hard time wrapping their head around what people feel they can say behind a username.

Most people tend to avoid discord as it happens to have a negative reputation. Usually gamers tend to use that place and twitch but its not a good replacement for online chat or discussion. I used to use discord for discussion of game info until I realized the types of people who frequently visit there. A lot of those people are usually not the type you want to conversation with. Many of them are plum creepy imo.

I haven't found this in particular, but it could be the type of Discords you're hanging out in. Most servers I'm active in, the people who do chat are usually friendly and courteous. Some people definitely lean towards the socially awkward type, but generally I find most to be otherwise (well)-adjusted human beings

I grabbed it from a Redbox when it first released and beat it, but I'll be honest, I barely remember anything about it. Literally the only party member I can recall is the quirky asari that annoyed the heck out of me. I can't even tell you what the story was beyond the initial premise, yet have no trouble remembering the original trilogy. Maybe I should try to replay it the next time I have access to it (if it was free at some point, I might have it on Origin, but if not, I'll give it a shot next time I get Game Pass Ultimate).

Then again, I recently replayed through the Dragon Age series and while I had no trouble with the first two (I'm probably one of the few crazies that like DAII), I barely got into Inquisition before stopping because it was too tedious and grindy for me, and I want to say I remember Andromeda being a bit similar to it in style when it came to quests/missions.

I 100%d (well it didn't update right so I was stuck at like 99.8/99.9%) Andromeda in 2020 and I can barely tell you fuck all about it <_<

That's the neat part, you don't.

It's annoying / impossible to search for the start of a discussion, and if you are away for like 30 minutes, you are out of the loop.

A board is asynchronous communication, a chat is synchronous communication. (As long as the chat is active that is)

That's why discord may be a alternative for the active people who are, well, active most of the time, but lurker or people who can't stay active for longer periods of times are left out quickly.

This will also depend on the size of a discord.

But I also don't think Discord is a good alternative to what CE is. Unless you're constantly making threads for specific discussions.

You can access it through your browser as well.

Its for group chatting.

Channels are set up for specific discussion. Its just a normal chat room, really. Post stuff, talk about whatever.

You can cordon off users based on roles so if they don't have a specific role, they won't be able to see a specific channel (IE a Furry or NSFW channel, with roles being restricted to verified users so you could verify someone is 18 before giving them a NSFW permission)

Many people use it for voice chat for games. You can do video calls and stream content.

Pretty good service overall.

TopicWindows 11 may be getting ads in the start menu

https://www.windowscentral.com/software-apps/windows-11/microsoft-wants-to-run-ads-in-your-start-menu-on-windows-11

What you need to know
  • Microsoft has began testing showing ads in the Start menu's "Recommended" area on Windows 11.
  • The ads will consist of "recommended" websites and apps, along with brief descriptions.
  • This change will apply to Windows 11 Home and Pro, but users can turn it off.

In the last six months, Microsoft has ramped up how and where it tries to advertise apps and services to you. The company is already bringing more of MSN to the Windows 10 and Windows 11 lock screen, the Widgets panel is a glorified advertisement board, and the Settings app now wastes no time trying to get you to subscribe to Microsoft 365.
Now, Microsoft is looking to open up advertising in another area of the Windows Shell, specifically, the Windows 11 Start menu's "Recommended" area, which the company says will now showcase apps and websites it thinks you might be interested in trying out. This change is currently in preview testing, so it may not ship if enough users file feedback about it.
If it does ship, users will have the option to turn it off if they want. To do this, just head into Settings > Personalization > Start and turning off "Show recommendations for tips, app promotions, and more" will disable the ads from showing in the Start menu. This is how Microsoft announced the "feature:"
"We are now trying out recommendations to help you discover great apps from the Microsoft Store under Recommended on the Start menu. This will appear only for Windows Insiders in the Beta Channel in the U.S. and will not apply to commercial devices (devices managed by organizations). This can be turned off by going to Settings > Personalization > Start and turning off the toggle for Show recommendations for tips, app promotions, and more.
This change is just one of many recent ones designed to promote apps and services on top of Windows. Some users may find it useful to see recommended apps and websites in the Start menu, and app developers will definitely appreciate the extra opportunity to promote their app.

I wonder if they'll make it difficult to completely remove and/or if it is network based, block the associated IPs/ports so the ads can't load.
