I mean that's literally how the bad guys were able to build the super hyperspace ring or whatever.

While I don't necessarily like the heavy handed story telling surrounding the New Republic and it's general ineptitude (this is elsewhere in the Didney canon, not just in Ahsoka), it is trying to lay the groundwork that there are power vacuums and bureaucratic inefficiencies that would allow an organization as large as the First Order to grow.

Combine that with the... Unwillingness of the New Republic to commit to a proper defense fleet and it's easier to see why the Sequels happened the way they did.

Though honestly I'd rather they just did a hard reset on that era but Didney would never.

My chief gameplay complaint is some ATB abilities totally wiffing, sometimes due to minimal or no fault of your own.

I'd be okay with it if you register no damage on any enemy, it refunds like half the amount you expended, because sometimes you'll go for Braver and just miss or Cloud won't execute immediately and the delay is enough for the enemy to move.

It could also be remedied by (certain) abilities only being able to be procced within a certain distance of the enemy so you're guaranteed to at least be within range. Or by forcing your character to face the enemy, least if you're locked on

wackyteen

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/house/house-republican-proposes-bill-expel-palestinians-from-us

Palestinians could be banned from entering the United States, and those who are already in the country could be at risk of being expelled under a new bill proposed by House Republicans this week.
Rep. Ryan Zinke (R-MT) introduced the Safeguarding Americans from Extremism Act on Thursday, seeking to prevent Palestinian terrorists from entering the country by halting the Department of Homeland Security from issuing visas or granting asylum to individuals seeking to enter the country with a Palestinian Authority passport. The bill would also expel any immigrants who were granted visas or entered the country on or after Oct. 1.
I dont trust the Biden administration any more than I do the Palestinian Authority to screen who is allowed to come into the United States, Zinke said. This is the most anti-Hamas immigration legislation I have seen, and its well deserved. Given the circumstances, the threats to our immigration system, and the history of terrorists abusing refugee, asylum, and visa processes all over the world, the requirements in this bill are necessary to keep Americans safe. This bill does exactly that.
The bill would also bar the DHS from granting Palestinians temporary protected status or refugee status, according to the legislation. Additionally, the DHS secretary would be prohibited from paroling immigrants and would revoke any parole granted to Palestinian individuals who entered the country on or after Oct. 1.
The legislation would direct the DHS to work with Immigration and Customs Enforcement and United States Citizenship and Immigration Services to identify and remove any individuals without lawful status, including those whose status is newly revoked.
The bill has 10 co-sponsors, including Reps. Andy Harris (R-MD), Aaron Bean (R-FL), Ralph Norman (R-SC), Scott DesJarlais (R-TN), Clay Higgins (R-LA), Ronny Jackson (R-TX), Bill Posey (R-FL), Barry Moore (R-AL), Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), and Andy Biggs (R-AZ).
Its not yet clear whether the bill would be considered on the House floor, but its likely to receive pushback and criticism from Democrats. Even if it did pass the House, its unlikely to make any headway in the Democrat-led Senate.
The bill comes after House Republicans introduced a similar bill last month seeking to block the Biden administration from granting visas to individuals with Palestinian passports. However, this legislation takes it a step further by blocking access to the country and removing those who had entered the country after Israel entered into a war against the Hamas militant group.

Ah, nothing like banning everything that makes you afraid. Truly brave people.

https://newrepublic.com/post/176625/ivanka-trump-forced-testify-fraud-trial

Welcome to the stand, Ivanka Trump.
A New York appeals court ruled on Thursday that the Trump sister must testify in the familys $250 million bank fraud trial, rejecting Ivankas pathetic attempt to waylay her testimony via an appeal.

She is scheduled to take the stand on November 8.

Ivanka Trump was originally cast as a defendant in the case alongside Donald Trump and sons Eric and Donald Jr, but narrowly avoided inclusion earlier this year when an appeals court ruled her actions were outside the statute of limitations. The trio stands accused of deceiving banks and insurers by massively overvaluing the elder Trumps net worth.
Ivanka was ordered to testify in the trial last weekbut then appealed the decision on the grounds that she would face undue hardship if she had to find childcare in order to testify during the school week. It looks like the judge thinks finding a babysitter isnt all that hard.
So far, Don Jr. has wrapped his testimony, while Erics will continue through Friday.
Mary Trump, the former presidents estranged niece, doesnt see the childrens testimony helping their father.
Theyre going to have to walk a very thin line between obfuscating in a way thats not perjury and appeasing their fathers ego so that he doesnt throw them under the bus when he testifies, which of course hes going to do no matter what they do, Mary Trump said in a newsletter exclusive, referring to the two sons.

That might change when Ivanka hits the stand.
Ivanka is likely to be less coy about her fathers business dealings, according to Mary, who believes that the heiress will tell the truth and throw him under the bus, since shes legitimately wealthy without her father and doesnt need to rely on him.
So far, Judge Arthur Engoron has ruled that Trump and his sons committed fraud and has stripped the Trump Organization of its business certificates. Trump is fighting hard to appeal that decision.

Get fucked.

"Undue hardship" LMFAO

https://www.eurogamer.net/xbox-users-call-out-activision-and-microsoft-for-vomit-inducing-full-screen-modern-warfare-3-ad

Activision and Xbox have teamed up to release full screen ads for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 on the console's homepage, which players have since heavily criticised.
As shared by multiple users on social media, the ad in question pops up when players boot up their Xbox. "Fight against the ultimate threat," the screen proclaims.
It then suggests you perhaps buy the game ahead of its full release later this month (as a reminder, you can play the Campaign early if you pre-order). Your three options are simply "Buy Now", "Get the Vault Edition Upgrade" and, mercifully, the option to "Exit" away from this ad and get on with what you actually booted up your Xbox for.
Needless to say, many aren't especially delighted with this decision by the Call of Duty and Microsoft teams (which for now appears to be affecting predominantly players in the US - I and other members of the Eurogamer team have not seen it when booting up our consoles).
The Verge's Tom Warren shared an image of the ad on X (formerly known as Twitter) adding that while he will accept this sort of thing "for new features / dashboard updates", he won't be so forgiving with marketing such as this advert.
Meanwhile, over on Reddit, several members of the Xbox community have labelled this marketing stunt "vomit inducing" and "unacceptable".
Others have joked that Microsoft is putting its recent, record breaking, acquisition of Activision Blizzard King to good use, and we should expect to see Candy Crush preloaded on consoles in the near future.
As a general point, Microsoft deployed similar pop-up ad tactics for both Starfield and Forza Motorsport earlier this year, so perhaps full-screen marketing like this is going to be the norm going forward.
Elsewhere in Modern Warfare 3 news, Activision recently blamed the game's potentially massive hard drive footprint on an "increased amount of content available Day 1", which includes open world Zombies, support for items being carried forward from Modern Warfare 2, plus map files for the current the Call of Duty: Warzone.
As Matt reported yesterday, some early access players on PS5 are reporting file sizes of almost 240GB once Call of Duty HQ and the campaign are installed.

They did one of these for Starfield.

All it did was make decidedly not want to play Starfield

I already don't want to play CoD so this makes me even less interested in playing CoD.

If it wss a splash screen that prompted when you went to the store or whatever, okay that's annoying but at least there's a fucking cause and effect.

These fucking things populate when you boot up and sign into your Xbox.
