turbopuns3 11/28/19 12:21:21 AM #385 | I got my first 1v1 kill against a level 60 (PHASE TWO, AM I RIGHT?) As a level 54. Elemental shaman. I was in Felwood, fighting a mob. 60 hunter shows up and starts shooting me. I turn and target the hunter, and pop elemental mastery. I cast chain lightning into earth shock. They both land and crit (obviously) because the hunter isn't moving. I cast lightning bolt, and it crits and kills the hunter. I mean, I know they sucked. They flat out sucked at pvp, but I don't care. Got my first 1v1 kill on a level 60. That was the situation. After being hunted like crazy during the current phase, that felt good. |

A friend of mine had 2 people bail on their work league, and they wanted to make sure to keep it at 12 people, so my friend asked me and another mutual friend to fill in. It's 10 coworkers, plus my friend and me who don't know a single person except the commissioner. That mutual friend and I are in 1st and 2nd lol |

turbopuns3 11/27/19 12:48:35 PM #322 | Nothing in the map drops door keys in HHM, I looked over the map the last time I played. The only door keys you can get have to be stolen. And I just realized, never mind Legault, if the enemy thieves don't unlock the door that's right in front of the boss, there's no way I'm gonna be able to get the member card, I don't think (unless the thief who has it actually tries to go for chests? I'm thinking he just runs away though). The only way to reach the main room without unlocking a door is to go all the way around to the bottom right corner and break through the wall. We'll see how it goes, I guess. |

turbopuns3 11/27/19 11:19:23 AM #319 | anyone know if the range on staves rounds up or down when it's magic / 2 ? There's...a chance priscilla may not be able to even get in range to use the sleep staff on legault I'm assuming it rounds down. Right now her magic is 9, so a range of 4. I don't have any door keys so I would have to try sleeping him through the thicker portion of the walls. If he walks along the same row of the map where the boss is, which seems likely(?) then Priscilla would need a range of 5 to hit him. So even if I do get her a level up in the first 6 turns, there's no guarantee she'll get that extra range. |

turbopuns3 11/26/19 10:10:09 AM #318 | I beat 19 and 19x Sadly I left like 4 or 5 levels of EXP behind in 19x because I misunderstood one of the mechanics that once you kill the boss, Kishuna never leaves unless you attack him directly Thought I had to seize the gate or else he'd leave, so I left Eliwood behind in a certain spot where the reinforcements wouldn't be able to reach him by the time I was finished, only to realize if he'd not been stranded I could've farmed up all the neutered mages and killed the rest of Kishuna's entourage |

turbopuns3 11/25/19 7:02:51 PM #315 | Raka_Putra posted... Well, that's been interesting. How would you draft people differently if you were to do this again? Not sure yet...I think my team is pretty alright. Being stuck with only Anima magic (until Renault lol) might end up being a nuisance. My failures so far have really just come down to poor play for the most part. Matthew's seemingly inconsequential death ended up costing me 2 resets when I had to fight Guy. I used one reset literally turn 1 putting a lord in range of 2 enemies they couldn't handle assuming 1 would miss. |

turbopuns3 11/25/19 1:28:10 PM #308 | And, yeah Player C has beaten HHM like 8 times compared to a combined 0 for the rest of us so this is pretty much exactly what I expected (even down to the ordering of the other players) |

turbopuns3 11/25/19 1:26:23 PM #307 | Though after watching him play I have to point out that having two strong mounted combat units early on in Hector's tale is super useful, and player C was the only one who had that (Florina and Lowen) A only had Marcus B only had Sain D only had Kent (and Priscilla but not promoted yet) |

turbopuns3 11/25/19 1:13:30 PM #32 | In my 9-2 league my kicker (Gonzalez) was on bye. I really like him though and I noticed every single player on my opponent's team played in the early games. So I decided to wait and see what my chances looked like before I dropped him for someone else. After the early games according to Yahoo I had about a 75%-80% chance to win without a kicker. My projection was to win by about 25. My remaining players were Rodgers, Adams, Sanders, and James White. I was going to just yolo and roll the dice but started to feel really uneasy about it. I dropped Gonzalez and picked up McLaughlin. McLaughlin outscored Rodgers, Sanders, and White combined and I won by 2.42. Shew. |

turbopuns3 11/25/19 12:57:38 PM #302 | Player C beat the game using 6 resets. One was a gray area thing that we let go because we failed to discuss it beforehand and it felt like a super lame way to lose. Zephiel (is that his name?) died in Battle Before Dawn before he really had a chance to do anything. So we agreed that we'll just wait and see whether that actually makes a difference in who wins (spoilers: it won't). But the good news is he's lent me his gameboy player disc so that I can stream my demise. I'm so salty that my disc went missing at some point. Those things are like 60 bucks. And I looked into using wii homebrew shenanigans to hack a gamecube memory card to run a free thing that emulates a gba on the gamecube, but in following the setup I learned that my wii is mysteriously cursed and can't install the homebrew channel. Frustrating. |

Ive liked C# of what I used most but I see some people get very passionate about which languages they proclaim to be the best The majority of our code is C# so that's what I know best by a long shot. I've messed around in Python before but the amount of experience is so vastly different that I can't really fairly say. I'm definitely in favor of a strongly typed world but that has a lot to do with the nature of the work my company does. |

turbopuns3 11/22/19 1:09:29 PM #15 | I've been a dev at my current place of work for 2.5 years, but I've been at the company for 6 years total. Worked 1 year on the support team and then 2.5 years in a weirdly specific data conversion role. Our team has about 16 devs and about 10 qa, a few product owners and scrum masters, two dev managers (one more of a lead architect and the other more of the clerical/personnel side of things). A majority of our work is B2B (our clients are generally businesses, not consumers). At any given time we have about 7 or 8 products being worked on at a time (generally 2-3 devs and 1 qa on a team), so it stays busy. We've sometimes had as many as 15 production releases in a single day. We do a lot of ETL work (putting square pegs in round holes) so it's a good environment for inexperienced/junior devs to get a foothold on the professional world because there's plenty of work to do that's simple to wrap your head around ("we need to take records from this database and make it look different and then put it into that other database"). But then of course when need it all to scale to handle tens of thousands of clients and process terabytes of data every day, you need some architects who know their stuff. |

turbopuns3 11/22/19 11:49:56 AM #223 | foolm0r0n posted... Like I said, maybe it's subconscious or subtle, but it's real. It's about about being part of the problem, or part of the solution. You're on a crusade and as a result you extract implications which don't exist just for the sake of having something to fight against, but alright. It looks like you don't even disagree with any of my stances. Async communication still works if you're in the same room, spoken language has its place (even if remotely), and if the social dynamic is good on the team (which is possible, if uncommon) then there's no issue being in the same room. |
